Light:

Dwarf Yaupon Schilling bonsai prefers full sun to partial shade. Ensure it gets at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily.

Indoor Care:

If grown indoors, place near a south-facing window or use grow lights to supplement natural light.

Watering:

Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging. Reduce watering frequency in winter, but do not let the soil dry out completely.

Soil:

Use a well-draining bonsai soil mix, typically a blend of akadama, pumice, and lava rock. Slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0-7.0) is ideal.

Pruning:

Prune regularly to maintain shape and promote dense foliage. Remove any dead or diseased branches. Pinch back new growth to encourage branching and maintain a compact form.

Fertilizing:

Feed the bonsai with a balanced liquid fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Use a slow-release fertilizer or organic fertilizer pellets during the dormant season (fall and winter).

Repotting:

Repot every 2-3 years in early spring before new growth starts. Gently trim the roots and replace the old soil with fresh bonsai soil mix.

Wiring:

Use aluminum or copper wire to shape the branches. Be careful not to damage the bark. Wire during the dormant season or early spring, and monitor regularly to avoid cutting into the bark.

Pests and Diseases:

Watch for aphids, spider mites, and scale. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil. Keep the bonsai clean and healthy to prevent fungal infections.

Winter Care:

If you live in a colder climate, protect the bonsai from frost by bringing it indoors or placing it in a cold frame.

Stop in during store hours or call ahead for availablity. Supply is limited and sold on a first come first served basis.

We accept cash, check and most debit/credit cards. Payment is collected at the time of purchase and can be made in-store or by phone for pre-orders. Please have a valid form of photo id if using a check or debit/credit card.

Pre-orders:

For pre-orders, payment can be made over the phone. Your receipt will be emailed to you. You will be notified when your order is available for pickup. If you've made shipping or delivery arrangements you will be notified when to expect your items.

In-store Pickup:

Please have a copy of your receipt with you at the time of pickup.

We provide delivery and shipping for an additional fee. Delivery/shipping can be requested by completing our contact form online, or by calling or email us directly.
