Light: Guzmania plants thrive in bright, indirect light, but they can endure low light conditions for short periods. Shield them from direct, intense sunlight to prevent scorching.

Water: Water Guzmania plants sparingly, especially in late fall and winter. Fill the central cup with distilled or filtered water, refreshing it weekly. Additionally, mist the leaves once or twice weekly. In summer, enhance humidity by placing the plant on a saucer of pebbles and water, or misting it regularly.

Soil: As epiphytes, Guzmania plants require well-draining soil that facilitates air circulation around the roots. Opt for potting mixes designed for bromeliads or orchids, or create your own blend using equal parts peat moss, bark, and vermiculite. Avoid oversized pots to prevent root rot.

Fertilizing: Apply spray fertilizer onto the foliage and the surface of the growing medium once or twice annually during spring or summer.

Repotting: Once the bloom stalks have withered, consider repotting Guzmania plants if they possess a few leaves and a sturdy base connection.
